If arrow is touching line, shooter gets the higher score
42 3d targets – 2 arrows each

Do I have to be a NFAA member to shoot?

No you do not need to be a NFAA/CBH member to compete for awards. We do encourage all shooters to join CBH, more information can be found at: https://nfaausa.com/memberships/become-a-member to become an NFAA member.

Which bow class am I in?

There are 4 different bow classes for this event: Recurve bows, Longbow -aluminum/carbon, Longbow -wood arrows, and Self bows. Self bows are made from a single piece of wood, no laminations.

Where do I pick up my registration packet?

The registration packet will be in the clubhouse at the sign in desk, at the far end opposite the kitchen.

What are the novelty shoots on Saturday?

The novelty games or “clouts” are a lot of fun. We have a running pig that moves back and forth, an action round where you shoot targets as you move through a course as fast as possible recording your time, two separate setups of various pneumatic and motorized animals that pop up or fly across a track on the ground or in the air, a distance clout to see who can come closest to the bullseye from about 80 yards, and more. Various awards are given for “winning” each of these events. The distance clout and last shooter standing competition are 50/50 awards where the winning shooter takes home half the money from that event, the other half going to our club. You will need your registration packet so we can give you “foster bucks’ for participating in these events. Foster bucks qualify you for different prizes.

What is “string walking”?

String walking, also known as crawling, is an archery technique that involves moving your fingers down the bowstring and anchoring and releasing the bowstring at a lower point. This technique causes the arrow to shoot lower than normal, but it also allows you to use the arrow’s point as an aiming reference in the center of the target at different distances. This technique is not allowed at the tournament.

What is a “clicker”?

A clicker is a small tool attached to a recurve riser that signals an archer to shoot at the same draw length every time. This tiny tool lets an archer know that the draw length is at the right length and it is time to release the string once an audible click is heard. The use of clickers are not allowed at this event.

What are mulligans and doe tags?

A mulligan allows the shooter to take another shot, replacing a previous shot. You may purchase up to two mulligans and one doe tag. A doe tag let’s you remove the penalty you would receive for hitting the wrong target, a doe. There will be one target of the 42 3d targets that will have a doe placed underneath, in front of, or behind the scoring target. If you hit the doe, you lose 10 points. With a doe tag, you score 0. You can also use a mulligan to try to better the 0 score but be careful, if you hit the doe on the mulligan, you still lose 10 points.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash at all times. Please pick up after pets.

Do you offer refunds?

Sorry, no refunds for any reason. Rain or shine, the shoot will happen.

Do I have to be present for the raffle?

Yes, you must be present for the raffle to receive your prize.
